Like, why are some pimples white and pusy, while other zits are just red bumps that never form a head.

Are they both caused by hormones? What causes them to be of either type? I know pus=infection but I thought ALL acne was bacterial to some degree?

ive been on it since february and my skin is the same. i dont have a bad acne problem but i get the occasional zit and its exactly as often as it was before i went on the pill

I don’t want to waste my time seeing a dermatologist if I can skip that and just see a dr who can prescribe me something like Spironolactone, that is supposedly used to block testosterone which causes breakouts in women.
Don’t have insurance or a regular dr. What kind of dr would specialize in hormonal issues? Could a GP prescribe something like this?

Every month when i get my period my face breaks out like crazy! Its not those little zits too…they are like, under the skin, big painful zits…Ladies, what works? Proactiv doesnt really seem to do the job…
I forgot to add…Birth control pills actually make it MUCH MUCH WORSE!

I have just been prescribed doxycycline for hormonal acne along my jawline on both sides of my face. I am also on the birth control pill for acne. Does anyone have experience with doxycycline - can you tell me how long it took to clear up your acne?
