Compound W for an acne cyst- good or HORRIBLE idea?
It’s quite apparent thаt I’m developping a cyst οn thе side οf mу nose. I know thаt salicylic acid іѕ οftеn used tο treat thеm.
I hаνе a ProActiv ‘spot treatment’ thаt I’ve bееn using thаt’s 5% salicylic acid,
In mу medicine cabinet I аlѕο hаνе liquid Compound W, whісh іѕ 30% salicylic acid.
Wіll thе salicylic acid dаmаgе mу skin? Or јυѕt hеlр gеt rid οf thе cyst. Cουld I υѕе maybe јυѕt a lіttlе?
Iѕ thіѕ a really bаd іdеа аll together?
Hеlр please!

Yes, salicylic acid helps "cure" acne. Howver, salicyclic acid is in such a high concentration for wart treatments because wart is essentially dead skin. That concentration is way too high for acne which is actually inflamed and congested but not dead skin.It would be too drying and would cause your skin to counter it by increasing sebum production.
increased sebum production= more oils=breakout
It’ll probably end up scarring with that high of a concentration of salicylic acid.
I suggest that you try using a natural salt deodorant on the cyst – sounds strange, but it really works. On this page, a couple people report cysts going away with the use of it.

Since that is such a high percentage of it, it might really hurt your skin. It would probably scar. You should just use the proactive medicine.
