does going to the dermatologist and getting a prescription from them usually clear up your acne?
im going tο thе dermatologist fοr thе first time tomorrow. саn i expect fοr whаt thеу give mе tο clear up mу acne?(i hаνе lightly moderate acne) οr dο thеу rarely give уου somthing thаt clears уουr acne up thе first time

Acne medication can result differently for everybody. Along with a healthy diet, exercise, cleanliness and the prescription, your moderate acne should clear up, but not instantaneously.
It depends. I went to 3 dermatologists (2 in my city and the other in a neighboring city) and the prescriptions they gave me didn’t work. The medicines were wayy too harsh on my skin and started making my skin peel on my face. I’ve tried Tazorac, Differin and some others that I can’t think of. It was horrible. I also took pills (I think it was doxycyclen) and they just made me sick. I couldn’t keep any food down. I ended up going on birth control with has helped TREMENDOUSLY!! But I don’t think you can do that since you are a guy! Best of luck!
Everyone is different. The doctor is a good place to start, but don’t expect immediate results. Even things that work often take up to 8 weeks to give you full results. And you may try something for that long, find it doesn’t work, and have to go back to the doc and try something else. All I can say is don’t give up.
It’ll take a couple of weeks. Some of the popular creams, like Retin-A, will temporarily make it worse before improving it.
