Is it possible my skin could have built a resistance to Proactiv?

I have been using Proactiv for about a year or so now. In the begining, it worked wonderfully. Now, my skin has been persistant in breaking out badly even if I use the refining mask (which is supposed to work miracles) almost daily.
Is it possible that my skin could have built up a resistance to Proactiv?

I have frequent breakouts on my chin but the rest of my face is clear! I wash my face with a cleanser containing salycilic acid, then i use a toner with alpha hydroxy, after that i use a gel with sal. acid, then i use a lotion with sal. acid. Then every other night i used Apricot scrub. What else can I do to get rid of the acne on my chin?

I started using proactiv about a year and a half ago. I was working great until recently… i had SUCH clear skin and since about 3 months ago my face just has not been good! I think my skinhas gotten used to the proactiv, its not terribel acne but enough to be a bother. my mom bought this neutrogena stuff so ill start using that. anyone else have experience with that? or anything else that works well. thanks!

Okay this is really gross, but I have been getting this huge zits that are like boils/cysts on my face around "that time of the month". Has anyone else ever had these, and if so do you know of a remedy or what they are caused from. P.S. I thought acne would have ended YEARS ago!!

My dermatologist has recommended ProActive, tried that and used it exactly as directed-didn’t work. I’m on an oral contraceptive that is supposed to clear it up-it has a little, but there is still a significant amount of acne there. I’ve tried clean and clear, ROC and Dermalogica…Everything seems to yeild the same results. I never had acne as a teen, but when I turned 22- bam! it hit me. I’m not changing products rapidly either, I give them a good 3-4 month span to see if anything will happen. I’ve also used Retin-A and other percription medications. What should I do? Help!
