Help with infected and swollen acne cyst please!?
Yesterday I hаd a rаthеr small acne cyst οn mу cheek thаt really hυrt. I саn’t leave mу acne alone ѕο I squeezed аnd squeezed іt until іt hυrt even more. Onlу clear pus came out. Now іt іѕ red аnd SWOLLEN (whole cheek аnd down іntο mу jaw). It really looks tеrrіblе аnd іt’s embarrassing. I hаνе bееn putting Neosporin οn іt аѕ much аѕ possible. Iѕ thеrе anything I саn dο besides thе obvious – leave mу acne alone?? I аm a 27 yr. οld female аnd thаt’s thе mοѕt embarrassing thing. Anything tο relieve thе swelling until іt heals? Thanks ѕο much!!!
same thing happened to me- i put handful of ice cubes in a sock and put it on the swollen areas until it was gone. only took about 2-3 hours. best way to do it is laying down (you could be watching tv) and just rest it on top of swollen part. good luck!
I know this sounds gross but get preperation H and put on it. I know its butt medicine but it does work.
Stop putting Neosprin on it,
wash your face in lukewarm water
apply a hot compress…
that should do the trick.
hot rag will draw out the infection then use peroxide and neosporin
Please see a doctor ASAP..you are developing a "cellulitis" which is a infection by squeezing that pimple..this could become serious and require hospitalization if you don’t treatment immediately..good luck…
The preparation H is a good idea as it constricts blood vessels. Also, you can try soaking a washcloth with witch hazel and putting ice cubes inside, and put on the affected area. Another thing that may help is benedryl cream. It’s an antihistamine, which will reduce redness.
Have you tried an aspirin mask? It’s pretty amazing. It shouldn’t be used on anyone who has open wounds as it might burn. It is great for reducing under-skin cysts and aids in fading marks. This mask is the very thing for drying up minor zits.
Take about 5-8 inexpensive, uncoated aspirin and crush them into a fine powder. Add a few drops of water to make a paste. Then smooth it on your face. It will be grainy and may crumble. Go to a dermatologist and have a cortisone shot applied to the cyst.This advice was given to me when I went to the dermatologist about a painful cyst .
