I am a 50 year old man and for some reason I am getting acne pimples and cysts that just won't heal. Ideas?
Fοr ѕοmе reason thе acne pimples leave a red "tender" looking blemish, whіlе thе cysts leave a reddish-brown discolored area. Thеѕе blemishes last fοr literally six months. Anу suggestions аrе really welcome. Thanks іn advance fοr thе hеlр.

Although uncommon, i’ts not unheard of for a man of your age to get acne. In addition, are you sure it’s’ acne and not rosacea? In either case, a trip to your dermatologist would help you, in that he could control the pimple breakouts, and if the resulting spots are bothering you, he could treat those with either IPL light or laser.
i just watched The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. i believe you will get younger. good luck
Are you taking any supplements, such as DHEA or testosterone? Sometimes those things can cause break-outs in adults. If not, you may want to get a hormone panel anyway. Another thought is have you changed anything about your daily routine, such as, soap, eating habits, where you live, new pets, etc.? Could be some type of reaction to a ‘new’ routine.
Joe:
Due to your age and the length it lasts I would certainly see a doctor. It sounds more boil related and you possibly need an oral antibiotic.
Also because you aren’t say 15 or 25 it is reason to have a general visit to the doctor.
Use warm compresses until you get seen.
as we get older, our chemistry changes, our ability to heal slows down and our skins reaction is slower to adapt…..skin develops bunches and bruises , cysts more easily and heal them slower
you have joined the ranks of many………consider yourself as just passed the borders of middle life.

. Wash you face with a gentle cleanser such as cetaphil or purpose.
2. Make an aspirin mask (aspirin is a derivitive of salicylic acid): mix 5 crushed aspirin with 1 Tbsp of water to make a paste and put it on your skin for 15-20 minutes. If you skin is sensitive, you can mix the aspirin with honey instead. Wash off with warm water.
3. Put a light, oil free moisturzer all over.
4. Put a dab of persagel-10 on each cyst to help dry it out overnight.
NExt morning:
Repeat steps, 1, 3 and 4 (doing the mask again will be too harsh). If there’s still some redness, put a couple drops of visine on it to decrease inflammation before putting the persagel on the cysts again. Put on your make up as usual.
To help against future breakouts : Check out Makeup Artists Choice and get a Gylcolic Acid peel that you can do weekly at home. It’s very good for deep cleaning and exfoliating, without being too harsh.
