Is it possible my skin could have built a resistance to Proactiv?
I hаνе bееn using Proactiv fοr аbουt a year οr ѕο now. In thе begining, іt worked wonderfully. Now, mу skin hаѕ bееn persistant іn breaking out bаdlу even іf I υѕе thе refining mask (whісh іѕ supposed tο work miracles) аlmοѕt daily.
Iѕ іt possible thаt mу skin сουld hаνе built up a resistance tο Proactiv?
Yep. Your skin gets used to it. Same thing happened to me after a year. It worked OK and then things just went downhill. Now I just use a gentle cleanser, smear a crap load of benzoyl peroxide (2.5%) on my face, and follow with a good face moisturizer. Works much better. I get acne on my forehead, and really bad acne around my mouth (disgusting), but it’s almost gone now and I have been trying this for a month so far.
I use:
Cetaphil cleanser
Neutragena on the Spot
Aveeno moisturizer with Feverfew (day)
Clinique moisturizer (night)
ok did u ever stop using it? this is how they get you to keep buying it. if u stop using it u will break out really bad and sometimes it doesnt work anymore. thats how they can afford to keep giving out free trials.
make sure you follow the directions and even if it feels like its not working don’t use it more often….do they have a telephone number you can call them and ask questions about their product??? i would look for one and call them because their job is to know their product and help others with problems with that product….good luck!!
I think that is highly possible. Im only 22 but i’ve had to change my skin care routines and products at least twice a year because of that. All of a sudden that moisturizer that didnt break me out…..does! But I dont know how to explain why, sorry. Proactive never worked for me even from the first week. Have you changed your diet at all recently? Or did you make a serious life change that could have caused stress….like work or relationships?
that could be highly possible, but did you know that proactiv actually bleaches your skin? I would try neutrogena. That works very well.
