My son’s dernatologist recommended accutane for his acne. I am having second thoughts about it. Can you give me some insight into good and bad things about it? I realize every drug has side effects listed but they aren’t that common in most people. What is true about this drug?

I am on depression medication and my dermatologist prescribed me Accutane. I really need it as it is my last resort, I have been going to her for 6 years. My skin doesn’t want to clear up. She does not know about my depression problem (which is ONLY a result of a recent bad breakup). If I tell her, will she work with me or is she going to pull the plug on giving me the prescription?! Please help. I need the help!

I finished Accutane a few months ago and am waiting to get a tattoo. I have been tod that I must wait until the medication has fully left my system but I cannot find how long that takes. Any ideas? Doctors and tattoo artists especially! And, yes, I am making an appointment with my dermatologist, I just want to get a general idea and a second opinion.
