I already have a spot treatment so I already have something that stays on rather than gets washed off. I want products not research. Teens have school and research is best for schoolwork. so books are a no no.
my diet has no problems as I make sure it is alkalized. Honey gets rid of bacteria but not dead skin cells. Acne is what happens when dead skin cells clump together. Honey would clean the surface but not do anything about dead skin cells. However, ingredients too exfoliating will be too abrasive and aggravate the acne so scrubs aren’t recommended. Salicylic acid is a gentle exfoliant so it is more suitable for acne treatment. Benzoyl Peroxide works but it is very drying and may cause more acne by increasing sebum production. Sulfur is okay. I dont believe in natural and want clinical products. so honey is not an option. In addition, retinol is also suitable as it renews skin cells. however, it is not suitable for day use as it is a form of vitamin a which is useless in the day since light cancels it out. in my opinion, the only treatments suitable for acne are salicylic acid, retinol, and sulfur. Benzoyl is okay if you have oily skin.
also suitable are sodium sulfacitide and erythromicin as well as Levulan Photodynamic Acne Therapy though it isn’t recommended as you need an experienced laser technician and it is expensive and may not work well with certain skin colors. I do not need info about acne as you can see. I am well informed and merely want a comparison of these 2 products.
If you wnat to make other suggestions, please limit them to prescription acne washes as my parents are able to write out prescriptions. I have no time to go to a dermatologist. I already have a prescribed acne spot treatment.
btw..yes you can moisturize as long as its oil-free. If your skin gets too dry sebum production will be increased so in some instances a good moisturizer is needed.
I also DO NOT drink soda or fast food. I make it a point to drink more than 8 cups of water everyday as I have found my body needs more than that to stay hydrated as an athlete. I make sure of this by checking the color of the urine (i know..gross) so that fact isn’t important to me. I also recently got a haircut to control the hair that gets in my face as I wear hair products which may clog pores. As you can see I already did my research.
btw..cleaning only with warm water is a no no. For mild acne your method may work but for moderate to severe acne a medicated treatment is always required. If I were to have severe cyctsic acne and follow the honey and warm water regimen, I would have tell tale scars on my face as cystic acne is notorious for leaving scars and the infamous craters on people’s faces.
I have been using clean&clear’s persa-gel 10 maximum strength for almost a year now and not seen much improvement.
do you think i should give the advantage acne spot treatment a try, or do you recommend something else.
i used clean and clear acne spot treatment to remove a pimple between my eyes. the pimple eventually went away, but the acne product left a chemical burn on my skin. how do help my skin heal faster or remove this burn? i really don’t want it to scar especially since its on my face
please help??
We keep Abreva around in case someone gets a fever blister/cold sore in the Winter, but yesterday I pulled it out and dabbed it on a zit that had popped up. It seemed to work fast in shrinking the zit.
So can I do that everytime I get a zit? What in the Abreva made the zit dry faster and is there an actual acne spot treatment that work just as well?
Thanks!
