I received a dexamethasone rinse from my doctor for my canker sores that I get every so often. Yesterday, I developed a nickel sized acne cyst on my forehead that is rather unpleasant to the eye. Because dexamethasone is a corticosteroid, I know that it is used as an anti-inflammatory drug (hence for the canker sores).
However, can dexamethasone be used for treating acne cysts? If so, how would I use it? Can I rub it on the cyst and have it be absorbed transdermally? Or should I just drink a teaspoon or so of it?
Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I have a huge acne cyst on my cheek. It’s sometimes purpleish, grayish, or red and often looks like a big bug bite. Every day I put on tons of concealer but you can still see it. Whenever I talk to someone they always end up asking what is wrong with my face or what is on my cheek. It’s really annoying. My dermatologist injected something into it which made it go away for a while but it came back. Please help I’ve had this since this summer and it makes me so self conscious. Are there any home remedies that make acne cysts go away?
I read it in an article in Women’s Health magazing. Is it true? Is hormonal acne linked to it? I need to know because I get acne cysts and I know the cause of it is hormonal.
