My dermatologist has recommended ProActive, tried that and used it exactly as directed-didn’t work. I’m on an oral contraceptive that is supposed to clear it up-it has a little, but there is still a significant amount of acne there. I’ve tried clean and clear, ROC and Dermalogica…Everything seems to yeild the same results. I never had acne as a teen, but when I turned 22- bam! it hit me. I’m not changing products rapidly either, I give them a good 3-4 month span to see if anything will happen. I’ve also used Retin-A and other percription medications. What should I do? Help!

I have an acne cyst right above my eyebrow. Its red and it hurts if I touch it. I have heard that putting a hot compress helps it, is this true? Its painful and I want to get rid of it as quickly as possible. I wash my face every night with St. Ives face wash and I put benzyol peroxide on it before I go to sleep. I can’t go to a dermatologist though I really want the accupuncture thing done to it

It seems like most drug store products don’t really work to fight acne. I have persistent acne, it’s not bad. just on my chin. I don’t feel like going to the dermatologist to get products. Is there a product/brand that really works?

It shows up right before and during my period and I can’t figure out how to get it to go away. What kinds of things would a dermatologist be able to prescribe? What if I want to get pregnant and can’t take anything that will hurt my baby?
