right now I use random face washes from walgreens and Retin-A night time cream. I have a little bit of acne on and off but the main thing that happens is my face dries out like crazy! I need to use this heavy lotion(ponds) to make it a little bit less dry. Then my face breaks out even more from pores being clogged. I do not want any other lotion recommendations, I just want to know if Proactiv dries out your face. My friend uses it and his face looks great and he says the moisturizer is great. I need a second opinion.
I was on roaccutane 4 years ago but, although a vast imrpovement, have never had clear skin. My skin has been getting progressively worse for 2 years. I think if I want to go on it again I have to go through all the different levels of treatment first and that takes years! I am taking a multi-vitamin and trying to remember to take agnus castus but keep forgetting! I have suspected PCOS too but i’m not overweight for my height, BMI is 24, i’m 21 years old and have been a vegetarian for 3 years. I am going to try Saw palmetto supplement, chromium and Acidophilus. No topical treatment or antibiotics are working, nor do dermalogica products! Thanks for your help!
Thanks ppl, i have heard of proactive but is it UK or US, i live in England. And what is it? By the way I have been on;
Topical; face washes made with salicyclic, glycolic or lactic acid. benzoyl peroxide creams on their own, and with antibiotics in the cream as well. Witch hazel and tea tree oil.
Internal; I have been on loads of different antibiotics.
Dianette- a form of the pill
Roaccutane
And, i have also tried probiotics, multivitamins, toothpaste regularly! Just to clarify, the spots are worst on my chin, also a few on my cheeks and forehead so don’t think its a food allergy. Also the skin is quite dry, but the spots are definately acne. Finally, as I live in the UK i rely on the NHS, an appointment to see a dermatologist is rarely given and the waiting list is 3 months at least. Privately it costs £250 or 5 before treatment! Thanks anyway, the website was good.
I’ve had bad acne all over my cheeks and chin since 8th grade (I’m 16 now). I’ve tried a lot of stuff, Clearasil (not sure how to spell that), Proactiv, Benzol Peroxide and lots of other face washes but nothing seems to work. I even went to the doctor and got birth control pills because they r supposed to help your skin but those didn’t work either. It’s really embarrassing and horrible and if anybody has any suggestions, please help. Can anyone suggest good acne creams, washes, etc?
I have tried several face washes including proactive, clean and clear advantage as well as several one step acne fighting face washes. As of right now I am using clearasil ultra twice a day and it doesn’t seem to give me dramatic results as I am still getting small bumps (which are visible in natural light). I also have small red spot from earlier acne. Does anyone know of any acne fighting treatments that will clear these small bumps/red marks?
I need a fast and easy way to clear my acne. School is starting soon and I want to have clean skin. I prefer someone to answer who has had acne and found a good way to clear it. I have tried all types of face washes and creams. My acne is not terribly bad but I want it to go away for good.
